Some of the larger Sowing Machines require a massive tractor to provide sufficient power.Ī non-cultivating Sowing Machine will only seed patches of soil that are cultivated/plowed and do not contain any seeds yet. Additionally, the vehicle towing the Machine must be able to provide enough power to run the Machine - otherwise it will refuse to activate. Most Sowing Machines must be unfolded from their transport configuration into a working configuration. Once the soil is ready and the seeds have been purchased, the Sowing Machine can be towed to the field and activated. A Sower will not work without seeds, although Hired Workers can buy their own seeds automatically if they run out (at a much higher price than normal, however). Seeds cost money, though the expense is usually fractional compared to the profit of the crops themselves. Each Sowing Machine has a tank that can hold a certain amount of seeds, which are acquired from the Seed Pallets back at the farm. This makes them highly efficient in both time and effort.īefore it can start working, the Sowing Machine must be filled up with seeds. Several of the Sowing Machines in the game circumvent the extra Plowing/Cultivation step by cultivating the ground themselves simultaneously, as they sow. Seeds can only be sown into soil that has been prepared this way and has not been seeded yet. Sowing can normally only be performed on land that has been specially prepared before hand, either by Plowing or Cultivating it with the appropriate machinery. This requires having a Sowing Machine on hand at all times. All crops grow from seeds, and almost all Crops (with the exception of Grass) must be re-seeded after every harvest, so that they can grow anew. Sowing Machines are responsible for one of the most important steps of Crop-growing: seeding the soil. Please read the individual articles of each Sowing Machine for more accurate information on power requirements and towing tractor options. So, you now have the choice to use the auger wagon (which will also allow you to refill your equipment elsewhere on the map) or install a Placeable Ramp to give you a better access for unloading.* The power requirements listed in the shop (and in these tables) are entirely misleading, and do not even serve well as rough guidelines for selecting your towing tractor. By the way, don't forget to open the small cover because I'm not sure it will open automatically. Since the unload process should work the same way for a shovel, I decided to try again but from an higher platform and again, if well positionned for the small opening, I was able to unload the shovel. However, the opening for the seeds (the one at the back) is rather small and difficult to access. Then, I used an Auger wagon and after several attempts, I finally found the right spot and it worked. I have made a few tests using the Horsch Maestro 12 SW (planter) with a small tractor with shovel and it was not easy to fill but I finally did it.Īt first, I used the shovel on a "flat" surface but with no success. Hello warz, sorry if I didn't understand you correctly the 1st time but English is not my first language and was only trying to help. JCB 435 S with standard shovel (wheelloader)ĮDIT: Problem solved, only had to "aim" the shovel better. Which vehicles & machines are involved: Does it happen on a standard map without mods yes/noįelsbrunn, have some mods from modhub, but problem is unrelated to those Load seed in a trailer and put it on the ground, use a wheelloader to load it from the ground, (or fill seed in the shovel of the wheelloader) and try to fill any of the mentioned planters. The tested planters will fill fertilizer this way, but not seed. I have my fertilizer, seed and lime stored loose on the ground, and use wheelloader with a shovel (the standard 3000L) to fill the tools. Works fine for all except planters i want to buy. I use wheelloader to fill my tools with fertilizer, seed, lime.
